Skyread Terms of Service

Last updated: October 28, 2026 · Version 2026-10-28

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legally binding agreement between Fundas LLC ("Fundas", "we", "us", "our") and the business or individual ("you") that signs up for, accesses or uses Skyread.

Skyread is our subscription data service. It delivers public economic, industry and local-market data and descriptive analysis through:

  • a web explorer;

  • a REST API and SQL access;

  • alerts;

  • a connector for AI assistants (an "MCP connector").

Skyread, its documentation and related support are the "Service". These Terms cover Skyread only. Fundas's other product, RiseIQ, has its own terms.

Accepting these Terms. You accept them by ticking the acceptance box at sign-up, or by using the Service. If you accept for a company or other organization, you confirm you have authority to bind it, and "you" means that organization. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Order forms. An order form or enterprise agreement signed by both parties controls over these Terms where it explicitly says so.

1. Eligibility

  • Business and professional use. The Service is for business and professional use. This includes companies and individuals using it for their work, for example consultants, analysts, founders, investors and sole proprietors.

  • Age and capacity. You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract.

  • Sanctions. You may not use the Service if you are located in a country subject to a comprehensive U.S. embargo, or named on a U.S. government restricted-party list such as the OFAC Specially Designated Nationals list or the BIS Entity List. You must comply with U.S. export-control and sanctions laws.

2. Accounts, people and sign-in

  • One account per subscription. The person who signs up becomes the account owner. The owner manages people, billing and the account.

  • Named people (seats). Each subscription covers the number of named people stated in Section 5. Each person:

  • – has their own sign-in, tied to their own email address;

  • – signs in with a one-time code that we email to that address. There are no passwords;

  • – must not share their sign-in, codes or API keys with anyone else.

  • Company email domain. On an account opened with an address at your organization's own email domain, everyone added must have an address at that domain. One subscription covers one organization domain.

  • People who leave. When someone leaves your organization, the owner should remove them on the Account page, which ends their access at once. Their access also lapses on its own:

  • – browser sign-ins last up to 7 days;

  • – API keys and AI-assistant connections pause if the person has not confirmed their email address in the last 30 days.

  • Your responsibility. You are responsible for:

  • – all activity under your account, its sign-ins, API keys and connected applications;

  • – keeping codes and keys confidential. Do not put API keys in public code, websites or browser-side scripts.

  • Compromise. Tell us right away at skyread@fundas.ai if you suspect unauthorized use. We may suspend sign-ins or keys we reasonably believe are compromised.

3. Your license

Subject to these Terms and payment of applicable fees, Fundas grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable right to access and use the Service during your subscription, for your own business purposes.

The Service is hosted software provided over the internet. No source code, software download or on-premises installation is provided.

4. Acceptable use

You will not, and will not let anyone else:

  1. copy, decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble or try to extract the source code, models, algorithms or non-public logic of the Service, except where the law expressly allows it despite this restriction;

  2. resell, sublicense, lease, white-label or run the Service as a service bureau without our written permission;

  3. bypass, disable or interfere with security features, sign-in, seat limits, rate limits or fair-use limits;

  4. scrape, crawl or bulk-download the Service by automated means beyond the documented API and its limits;

  5. introduce malware, or run load or penetration tests without our written permission;

  6. use the Service to break any law or infringe anyone's rights;

  7. use the Service to develop a competing product.

5. Plans and fees

  • Standard plan. US$99 per month per subscription, plus applicable taxes, billed monthly in advance through Stripe, unless a different price is shown at checkout or agreed in a signed order form. One subscription includes:

  • – up to five (5) named people, when the account is opened with an address at your organization's own email domain. All must have addresses at that domain;

  • – one (1) named person, when the account is opened with a personal email address (a public mailbox provider such as Gmail or Outlook);

  • – all data, briefings, local-market profiles, alerts, API, SQL and AI-assistant access, subject to the fair-use limits in Section 8.

  • More people or other terms. For more people, higher limits, redistribution rights or invoicing, contact us for a separate plan or order form.

  • Other offers. If we offer annual billing, other plans or promotional prices, their price, billing frequency and renewal terms will be shown before you subscribe.

  • Taxes. Fees exclude taxes. You are responsible for applicable sales, use, VAT and similar taxes, other than taxes on our income. Where we are required to collect tax, it is shown at checkout and on your invoice.

  • Price changes. We may change prices with notice as described in Section 6. You may cancel before a change applies to you.

6. Free trial and automatic renewal

Before you start a trial:

  • Length. New customers get one 14-day free trial. There is one trial per organization email domain, and per email address. An account whose trial or subscription has ended can restart from the Account page, without a new trial.

  • No card needed. You do not need a payment card to start.

If you do not add a card before the trial ends:

  • the trial ends automatically;

  • nothing is charged;

  • access stops.

If you add a card, by ticking the acceptance box at sign-up and adding the card you agree to the following:

  • (a) Automatic renewal. Your subscription becomes a paid subscription when the trial ends. It renews automatically every month until you cancel.

  • (b) Charges. Stripe will charge your card US$99 (plus applicable tax), or the price shown at checkout, on the day the trial ends and every month after that.

  • (c) Cancelling. You can cancel at any time as described in Section 7. If you cancel during the trial, nothing is charged.

Notices we send:

  • after sign-up, a confirmation explaining the terms and how to cancel;

  • before the end of any trial or promotional period lasting longer than 31 days;

  • at least once a year, a reminder that your subscription renews automatically;

  • at least 7 days (and no more than 30 days) before any price increase or other material change to the renewal terms. This notice includes how to cancel.

We keep a record of your acceptance of these renewal terms, as the law requires.

7. Cancellation and refunds

  • How to cancel. The account owner can cancel online at any time on the Skyread Account page under "Manage card, invoices or cancel". This opens Stripe's billing portal. You do not need to call or email us. You may also email skyread@fundas.ai and we will cancel for you. To close the account and delete its data at once, use "Close and delete the account" on the same page.

  • When it takes effect. At the end of the current paid month. You keep access until then, and no further charges are made.

  • Refunds. Fees already paid are non-refundable, and we do not refund partial months, except:

  • – where the law requires a refund;

  • – where we discontinue the Service (Section 16);

  • – where we raise the price and you cancel within 14 days after the increase is first charged. In that case we refund a prorated share of that month's fee.

  • Failed payments. Stripe retries the charge for a limited period, and access continues during that time. If payment is not made, the account is suspended until it is.

8. Fair use and technical limits

Your subscription includes unlimited questions under a fair-use limit. The limit lets everyone use Skyread normally while preventing bulk copying of the database.

The current limits, per account, are:

  • 120 requests per minute and 20,000 requests per day;

  • 50 active alerts;

  • 5,000 rows per SQL result;

  • 3 browsers signed in at once per person.

We may change these limits with notice. Requests over a limit are temporarily refused. We may suspend an account that repeatedly tries to get around the limits.

9. AI assistants

  • Connecting. When you connect an AI assistant such as Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor, you sign in as yourself and authorize it to send Skyread requests on your behalf, including creating and deleting your account's alerts. The connection belongs to you and ends if you are removed from the account.

  • Revoking. You can revoke access at any time in the assistant's settings, or on the Account page.

  • AI-generated text.

  • – The AI assistant, not Fundas, writes the text it shows you. It may summarize, round, combine or misstate Skyread's figures.

  • – Fundas is responsible only for the data and analysis Skyread returns.

  • – Before you rely on a figure, check it against the value, period and source that Skyread returned.

  • – Your use of the assistant is governed by its provider's terms.

10. How you may use Skyread data

You may:

  • use Skyread data and analysis in your internal work;

  • include reasonable excerpts in your own reports, presentations, articles, client deliverables, websites and products. Examples: figures, charts and tables supporting your own analysis.

These permissions apply only while you keep the source credits required by Section 11.

You may not:

  1. resell, sublicense or redistribute Skyread data in bulk or as a data feed, or make a substantial part of any dataset available to others, without a written redistribution agreement with us;

  2. use Skyread to build, enrich or train a competing data product, database or service. This includes training or fine-tuning a machine-learning model whose main purpose is to reproduce Skyread's datasets;

  3. bulk-download or systematically copy datasets beyond the fair-use limits in Section 8;

  4. use any data, alone or combined with other information, to identify, or attempt to identify, any person, household or business. The Census Bureau and other sources prohibit this;

  5. remove, hide or alter source credits, dates or margins of error when you republish figures, or present modified or derived figures as an agency's official figures;

  6. state or imply that any agency or source endorses, certifies or is affiliated with you, your work or Skyread, or use any agency's name, seal or logo as an endorsement.

11. Sources and required credits

Who publishes the data. Skyread data comes from government agencies and other public publishers ("Sources"), including:

  • the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Census Bureau, Bureau of Economic Analysis, Energy Information Administration, Department of Labor, Department of the Treasury, Internal Revenue Service, Food and Drug Administration, Department of Agriculture, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Securities and Exchange Commission, National Weather Service, U.S. Geological Survey, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Federal Housing Finance Agency, Small Business Administration and Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau;

  • the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York;

  • the World Bank.

Source terms apply to you. Each Source's terms of use apply to your use of its data, and you agree to comply with them.

Show the credit line. Every Skyread answer includes a credit line naming the Sources and any notice their terms require. You must show the credit line with any figure you publish or share. Key notices (the full list is in Skyread's licensing information):

  • Census Bureau: "This product uses the Census Bureau Data API but is not endorsed or certified by the Census Bureau."

  • BLS: "BLS.gov cannot vouch for the data or analyses derived from these data after the data have been retrieved from BLS.gov."

  • World Bank: credit under CC BY 4.0, and say when figures have been changed or derived.

  • Federal Reserve Bank of New York: its copyright notice and terms of use.

Data whose terms forbid resale. Some well-known data cannot be resold, so Skyread does not store or supply it. Examples: FRED, Freddie Mac mortgage rates, the University of Michigan Surveys of Consumers, the Conference Board and S&P indices. For these, Skyread says where to get the data, and you must obtain any license directly from the owner.

When Source terms change. If a Source changes its terms, availability or format, we may change or remove the affected data.

12. Data accuracy, revisions and limits

Skyread shows data as published by each Source.

  • Sources revise their data. Skyread keeps earlier versions so you can see what was known on a past date.

  • Survey-based figures, such as American Community Survey estimates, are estimates. They come with margins of error, and Skyread flags figures that are too imprecise to rely on.

  • Where an exact geography is not published, a stand-in may be used. For example, metro areas stand in for TV markets.

  • Derived measures (for example changes, indexes, inflation-adjusted values and combined cost measures) are calculated by Skyread using the methods we document.

We work hard to match the Sources exactly and we publish an accuracy test. However:

  • we do not warrant that any data is accurate, complete, current or fit for your purpose;

  • the accuracy test is not a warranty;

  • data may be delayed, missing or wrong when a Source is unavailable or changes its format.

Skyread is not a real-time service. Data is updated after each Source publishes, on that Source's schedule.

13. Not advice

Skyread provides public data and descriptive analysis only. It is not investment, financial, tax, legal, accounting or other professional advice, and it is not a forecast or a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security or asset.

  • Fundas is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer or financial planner.

  • Company financial data comes from public SEC filings as reported.

You are solely responsible for your decisions and should consult qualified professionals.

14. Alerts

You can set alerts that notify you, by webhook or email, when data meets conditions you choose. Fundas tries to deliver alerts promptly but does not guarantee delivery or timing.

Alerts are not a substitute for official notices. Do not rely on them for safety, food-safety, health, legal or regulatory compliance. For example, use the FDA's own recall notices for recalls and the National Weather Service for weather warnings.

You are responsible for the webhook addresses you provide, and for having permission to send alerts to any email address you enter. Alert emails can go only to addresses at your account's own email domain.

15. Intellectual property, your inputs and feedback

  • Ours. Fundas and its licensors own all rights in the Service: its software, analyses, briefings, scoring and index methods, compilations, transformations, metadata, documentation, interfaces and APIs, and all improvements to them. Public-domain source data remains in the public domain; our rights cover our selection, arrangement, transformation and presentation of it. No rights are granted except as these Terms expressly state.

  • Yours. Your queries, alert settings and other inputs remain yours. We use them only to provide the Service.

  • Feedback. If you send us suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.

16. Suspension, termination and discontinuation

  • By you. You may stop using the Service and cancel at any time (Section 7).

  • By us. We may suspend or terminate your access, with notice where practicable, if you breach these Terms, fail to pay, your use threatens the security, integrity or availability of the Service or others' use of it, or the law requires it.

  • Discontinuation. We may discontinue the Service with at least 30 days' notice. If we do, we will refund any prepaid fees for the period after discontinuation.

  • Effect. When your access ends, your license ends. Your data is handled as described in the Skyread Privacy Policy.

  • Survival. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including Sections 4, 10, 11, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21.

17. Third-party services

The Service works with services we do not control, such as AI assistants (for example Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor), Stripe, and the messaging tools that receive your webhooks. Your use of them is governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for their availability, security, pricing, changes or content.

18. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fundas disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Statistics, analyses and AI-generated text may be incomplete or wrong. You are responsible for decisions you make with them. We do not offer a service-level commitment unless a signed order form includes one.

19. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:

  • No indirect damages. In no event will Fundas or its affiliates, officers, directors, employees or agents be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive or exemplary damages, including lost revenue, profits, savings or goodwill, trading or investment losses, or loss or corruption of data. This applies under any theory of liability (contract, tort, negligence or otherwise), even if Fundas was advised such damages were possible.

  • Cap on total liability. Fundas's total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you actually paid Fundas for the Service in the three (3) months before the event giving rise to liability, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limits. In those jurisdictions, they apply only to the extent permitted.

20. Indemnification

You will defend, indemnify and hold harmless Fundas and its officers, directors and employees against third-party claims, damages, liabilities, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from:

  • (a) your breach of these Terms;

  • (b) your violation of law;

  • (c) your republication of data from the Service in breach of Sections 10 and 11.

21. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.

Any suit, action or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service must be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Broward County, Florida. Each party irrevocably submits to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

Nothing in this section removes rights you have under mandatory consumer-protection laws where you live.

22. General

  • Entire agreement. These Terms, the Skyread Privacy Policy, any Data Processing Agreement and any signed order form are the entire agreement on this subject.

  • Changes to these Terms. We may update these Terms. For material changes, we will give account owners at least 30 days' notice by email or in the product. Continued use after the effective date means acceptance. If you do not agree, you may cancel before the change takes effect.

  • Notices. We may send notices to the account owner's email address or through the product. Send notices to us at skyread@fundas.ai, with a copy to Fundas LLC, Attention: Legal Affairs, 28 Geary St, STE 650 #2045, San Francisco, CA 94108, USA.

  • Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent, except to a successor of your whole business. We may assign them to an affiliate or a successor.

  • Force majeure. Neither party is liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including outages of cloud providers or Sources, natural disasters and government actions. This does not excuse payment obligations.

  • Severability and waiver. An unenforceable provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted, and the rest remain in effect. Not enforcing a provision is not a waiver.

  • Independent parties. The parties are independent contractors.

  • Electronic communications. You agree to receive agreements, notices and disclosures electronically.
